Shenzhen University started admitting international students in 1987 and has by now educated nearly 20,000 international students. In 2019, it successfully passed the national Quality Certification of Studying in China.
The College of International Exchange is the central management and teaching department for international students with four offices (comprehensive office, admission office, student affairs office and academic affairs office), taking charge of international student admission, language teaching, and student affairs.
The College is home to the Department of Chinese Language and Culture and the Department of Language Education. Since its establishment, the College has aimed to educate international students who are knowledgeable about China and friendly to China through a multicultural education. Leveraging the University’s top disciplines, the College has formed a multilevel structure of education, offering degree programs and non-degree Chinese language programs. The degree programs include a master's degree program in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages and an undergraduate program in Chinese language and literature (Language and Culture and Business Chinese). Non-degree programs are long-term and short-term Chinese language training courses for international students.
The College is committed to excellence in education, management and service of international students. We organize international students to participate in various extracurricular activities, such as Chinese singing and dancing competition, cultural tour and traditional Chinese festivals. The activities of Shenzhen University International Cultural Festival and Culture Ambassador Enters Campus are the most popular among international students.
The College is dedicated to cultivating innovative and entrepreneurial talents by actively expanding internship and employment channels for international students, producing interculturally competent talents to contribute to the development of Shenzhen and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.
