The Marxism College (School of Social Sciences) is a teaching and research unit that offers ideological and political theory courses (Liberal education).
The College has 56 faculty members, including one Prominent Teacher of Guangdong Province, one Prominent Teacher of Guangdong Province in Ideological and Political Theory Course, and two members of the Guangdong Guiding Committee of Ideological and Political Theory Course. The College was approved to confer the master’s degree in Marxist Theory and Ideological and Political Education in 2003, and to grant master’s degrees under Marxist Theory (0305) in 2017, including Ideological and Political Education , Marxist Fundamental Principles, Study of Marxism in China, History of Marxism Development and Research on Fundamental Issues of Chinese Modern and Contemporary History.
The College boasts the country's first virtual simulation experiment teaching center for the course of Ideological and Political theory and Guangdong College Ideological and Political Course Regional Collaborative Innovation Center. There are 6 academic research institutions, namely Shenzhen University Immigration Culture Research Base, Institute of Contemporary Chinese Ideology and Culture, Shenzhen University Deng Xiaoping Theory Research Center, Shenzhen University Institute of Moral Culture, Shenzhen University Chinese System Philosophy Research Center, Shenzhen International Development Strategy Research Center.
