From July 19 to August 5, 2026, a delegation of faculty and students from the School of Architecture & Urban Planning, Shenzhen University conducted a two-week academic study tour to Budapest, Hungary, and Milan, Italy, centered on the theme "Tracing Classics · Envisioning the Future."
In Budapest, the group visited Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME) for an academic symposium, held exchanges with the Association of Hungarian Architects and the Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design (MOME), and conducted field research on key architectural landmarks, including the Richter Gedeon HQ Building, the Puskás Aréna, the Hungarian Parliament Building, the Fisherman's Bastion, the Aquincum Archaeological Site, and the Hungarian State Opera House.
In Milan, the delegation inspected the structural preservation and restoration of the Milan Cathedral, visited the construction site of the ongoing CityWave project, and engaged in exchanges at the Polytechnic University of Milan and the Fondazione Renzo Piano. They also surveyed the Parco della Luce, the Monte Rosa 91 complex, the Sforza Castle, and the National Museum of Science and Technology Leonardo da Vinci.
The study tour was the result of two years of preparation and received substantial support from the International Office of Shenzhen University, alongside host institutions including Budapest University of Technology and Economics, Polytechnic University of Milan, and the Association of Hungarian Architects. The school stated it will continue to deepen cooperation with relevant institutions moving forward.
