Shenzhen University's 2025 "Earth Online" Lychee Run kicks off with enthusiasm

December 15, 2025

On December 14, despite a sudden drop in temperature, the campus of Shenzhen University was filled with warmth and excitement as the annual signature event, the "Lychee Run," began with great anticipation.

At 9:00 AM, the warm-up run started punctually at Zhikuai Field on the Lihu Campus. Hundreds of students gathered in front of the stage, eager to begin, their footsteps keeping time with the drumbeats and tapping out a youthful rhythm.

Shen Xinyan, Liang Anqi, and Ni Yuchen from the College of Economics, Class of 2025, experienced the Lychee Run for the first time and shared their excitement: "It's a truly new and exciting experience!"

Fellow first-year students Liu Aoyi and Zhang Xiangcheng agreed that running only once wasn't enough, and planned to join the afternoon run at the Yuehai Campus to extend the joy.

For Ouyang Zeping, a 2023 postgraduate student from the College of Chemistry and Environmental Engineering, the Lychee Run is already a tradition—this year marked his third participation. He invited his junior, Zhu Chenfeng from the Class of 2024, to continue the tradition together.

In the afternoon, students at the Yuehai Campus gathered early at the starting line, and even before the race began, the atmosphere was electrifying.

At 2:30 PM, the starting gun fired, and participants set off from Starry Sky Plaza, running past Huixing Building, Lide Gate, Huiguang Building, Qiaolin Pavilion, Zhaoxi Building, the South Sport Plaza, and Ziwei Building Cainiao Post Station, before reaching the finish line at Yuanping Gymnasium. Along the route, students sprayed each other with colorful powders at designated checkpoints, transforming from green to yellow-green, and ultimately into dazzling rainbow hues.

"Blue—like the sky, free, vast, and full of possibilities."

"Green symbolizes vitality; this event is full of youthful spirit!"

"My mood matches the lively atmosphere here—bright red is perfect!"

"I choose yellow; it's the color of the sun and wheat!"

Even after the run concluded, the enthusiasm continued. Students gathered in a circle at Starry Sky Plaza, singing loudly and engaging in dance battles, carrying the excitement of the Lychee Run into a second climax.
