SZU Swimming Team Claims Gold, Breaks Record in National Competition

The 21st China University Swimming Championships came to an end in Xiamen recently. After four days of intense competition, the Shenzhen University Swimming Team won 13 gold, 5 silver, and 5 bronze medals, breaking 8 records in the Chinese College Swimming Division (professional/highest level) and winning three championships in men's, women's, and team total points.

The competition consists of two groups: C and D, with 627 college swimmers from 61 universities including Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, and the University of Macau competing fiercely, winning a total of 80 gold medals.

The Shenzhen University swimming team, composed of students majoring in sports training, overcame the adverse effects of influenza and other factors under the leadership of team leader Zhang Xiaohong and instructor Tang Yucheng in the competition. They "swam" straight ahead, winning a total of 13 gold medals, 5 silver medals, and 5 bronze medals. They also won three championships in men's team, women's team, and team total points.In group events, the Shenzhen University Swimming Team won 7 gold and 1 silver medals in 8 relay events, and broke the records of women's 4×200 freestyle relay, women's 4×100 freestyle relay, men's 4×100 Medley Relay, Men's 4×100 freestyle relay, male and female 4×100 freestyle relay events; In individual events, Zheng Xiaojing broke the men's 100m butterfly record with a time of 53.69, Li Jiaping broke the women's 200m freestyle record with a time of 1:58.93, and Qiu Tian broke the men's 50m breaststroke record with a time of 28.68.
