Nobel Laureate and Shenzhen University's Chair Professor Barry Marshall attended the Australia-China Health and MedTech Cooperation Exchange Event

Recently, Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine laureate and Chair Professor at Shenzhen University, Barry Marshall, visited China to attend the Australia-China Health and MedTech Cooperation and Exchange event. As part of his visit, he came to Shenzhen University and engaged in a discussion with graduate students from the university's Medical School.

During the session, Professor Marshall shared his scientific research journey and personal insights, encouraging students to embrace exploration and innovation. Graduate student representatives actively engaged with Professor Marshall, raising questions on topics such as cutting-edge medical technologies, research methodologies, and career development. Marshall patiently answered their questions and provided valuable advice based on his own experiences.

Professor Xu Xingzhi, Executive Director of the Medical School, and Professor Liu Baohua, Dean of the School of Basic Medical Sciences, also participated in the discussion. Professor Xu extended a warm welcome to Professor Marshall, while Professor Liu introduced the international cooperation and exchange efforts of the School of Basic Medical Sciences in medical research. Faculty and students alike expressed that they had gained meaningful insights from Professor Marshall's guidance and looked forward to future opportunities for academic exchange.

During his visit to China, Marshall also attended the Australia-China Health & MedTech Luncheon hosted by the Embassy of Australia in Chengdu. There, he joined experts and scholars from both countries to discuss international cooperation and scientific innovation, further advancing collaboration between China and Australia in healthcare, trade, and related fields.
