Shenzhen University launches DeepSeek-based AI General Education Course

The National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology at Shenzhen University, in collaboration with Tencent Cloud, has recently launched a newDeepSeek-based AI General Education Course.

This course is designed to provide students with a thorough understanding of AI, including its history, key technologies, and high-value applications in scientific research and societal development. It also encourages interdisciplinary thinking and fosters the integration and innovation of AI technologies across various fields.This course is now open for enrollment in the current semester.

The coursecovers the fundamentals of AI, technical principles, and practical applications of DeepSeek in areas such as AI-generated content (AIGC), natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, and artificial intelligence recommendation (AIRec).Through hands-on experiments designed around DeepSeek’s cutting-edge applications, students will experience the allure of AI technology firsthand and learn how to apply AI to research across different disciplines. This will help cultivate interdisciplinary innovation. Tencent Cloud has already integrated more than a dozen of its products, including Cloud Studio and Tencent Cloud TI Platform, with DeepSeek, and continues to expand its application scenarios, enhancing model training and inference deployment in education to improve students’ practical skills.

To ensure the successful implementation of the course, Shenzhen University’s Center for AI Services Computing, supported by the National Engineering Laboratory for Big Data System Computing Technology, is driving the localized deployment of DeepSeek. This initiative provides powerful computational resources and creates an efficient, stable experimental environment for both faculty and students. With this localized deployment, students will have direct access to DeepSeek’s capabilities and be able to conduct innovative research using real-world data.
