From November 23rd to 25th, the symposium on “Innovation of Literary Theory in the New Era” and the 15th Annual Meeting of China Association of Chinese and Foreign Literary Theory was held at SZU. The symposium was jointly hosted by China Association of Chinese and Foreign Literary Theory, the China Society of Literary Criticism Research and Shenzhen University, and organized by Institute of Aesthetics and Literary Criticism, the School of Humanities, School of Foreign Languages, and Institute for Cultural Industries of Shenzhen University. The symposium covered a wide range of topics, including “the academic conditions and social foundations of the innovation of literary theory in the new era,” “the relationship between Chinese traditional literary theory and the innovation of literary theory in the new era,” “the relationship between the international literary academic dialogue and literary theory innovation in the new era,” “the heritage and development of 20th century Chinese literary theory in the new era,” “the challenges of ‘exporting’ Chinese literary theory,” “the construction of the discourse of Chinese literary theory” and “cultural industries and cultural innovation from the perspectives of cultural confidence.” More than 200 foreign experts from Japan, the United States, Germany and Italy, as well as more than 200 scholars from universities and research institutes in China attended the symposium.
