On June 26, Shenzhen University's 2026 commencement ceremony was held at the Yuanping Gymnasium on the Yuehai campus. Xu Bo, Party Secretary of Shenzhen University, along with several academicians, senior professor representatives, alumni representatives, heads of various schools (departments) and administrative departments, and faculty representatives, attended the ceremony. Vice President Li Yonghua presided over the ceremony.

In 2026, Shenzhen University has a total of 7,150 prospective full-time undergraduate students and international students (as of June 18, 5,359 have been awarded bachelor's degrees on schedule, among whom 216 earned honors bachelor's degrees). The total number of graduating postgraduate students reaches 4,984 (comprising 147 doctoral and 4,837 master's graduates), setting a new record high.
As of June 18, 32% of the 2026 cohort of prospective undergraduate students (excluding those from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan) have been admitted to master's programs at renowned domestic and international institutions. Among postgraduate students who have confirmed their career plans, 17% have signed with government agencies and public institutions, 69% with industry-leading enterprises, and 7% are continuing their studies.
Undergraduate students have received a total of 2,869 competition awards at various levels, ranking Shenzhen University 39th nationally and 2nd in Guangdong Province in the National University Student Competition Index (2025 Edition); postgraduate students have won 476 awards in discipline competitions.

Xu Bo delivered a speech titled "Be a Person of Humanity and Integrity", elaborating on three dimensions of "humanity and integrity" for the graduates. On the spiritual bond with the alma mater, he encouraged graduates to inherit Shenzhen University's spirit of "self-reliance, self-discipline, self-improvement". On resonating deeply with the city, he affirmed the mutual commitment of Shenzhen University students to taking root in Shenzhen and serving the Greater Bay Area, encouraging them to make breakthroughs in independent technological innovation and talent development. On a conscious sense of mission toward the country, he expressed his hope that students would intertwine their personal destinies with the "nation's core priorities" and become people of humanity and integrity in the fullest sense.
Professor Zhou Ye as faculty representative, Chen Yutong as undergraduate student representative, and Zheng Yu as alumni representative delivered speeches, respectively. They encouraged graduates to stay sober-minded and steadfast amid distractions, and dedicate their youth to real-world endeavors.
This year, the university's "New Tomorrow Graduation Gift" consists of three towels (a cheering towel, a sweat towel, and a shawl), symbolizing the alma mater's unwavering support, the city's drive for progress, and the warm embrace of the motherland, respectively.


The ceremony concluded with the graduates exchanging heartfelt farewells and singing together, marking the official departure of the 2026 cohort from the Lychee Garden to their next destinations.
