Shenzhen University's 2026 Open Day attracts tens of thousands of visitors

June 29, 2026

On June 27, Shenzhen University's 2026 Open Day arrived as scheduled. The Yuehai and Lihu Campuses opened to visitors at the same time, welcoming tens of thousands of prospective students, parents, and citizens from across the country. Through admission briefing sessions, laboratory tours, and cultural experiences, visitors immersed themselves in Shenzhen University's educational strength and innovative vitality.

7,090 students planned for 2026 admissions, focusing on cutting-edge interdisciplinary fields

Shenzhen University plans to admit 7,090 students nationwide in 2026. Closely aligned with the national 15th Five-Year Plan and the needs of Shenzhen's strategic emerging industries, the university launches newly established schools and majors for the first time. The School of Integrated Circuits plans to admit 180 students in its inaugural year, while the Cryptography Science and Technology major will admit 20 students in its first year.

The university has upgraded its cultivation model and expanded academician-led elite classes. Eight new dual-bachelor's degree programs (mostly adopting an "X+AI" framework) and 16 featured specialty classes have been introduced. The Future Technology School (provincial level) will admit students directly via the national college entrance examination for the first time this year. Mingde College, the first physical residential college, has been inaugurated to explore a dual-track training system integrating academic schools and residential colleges.

In-depth university-enterprise integration ushers in a new talent cultivation phase in the AI era

On the Open Day, Shenzhen University invited guests from Tencent for a special sharing session. Tencent and Shenzhen University share a long-standing partnership and deep historical ties. Leveraging the first batch of modern industrial schools accredited by the Ministry of Education, the two sides are continuously exploring a talent cultivation model that integrates "production, academia, research, and innovation" through university-enterprise collaboration to jointly address the new demands for interdisciplinary talent in the AI era.

Impressive employment and further education statistics underscore the university's educational strength

Relevant department heads disclosed the latest high-quality development data for Shenzhen University graduates at the briefing session:

The top ten companies recruiting Shenzhen University graduates in the past three years have all been leading enterprises such as Huawei, Tencent, and BYD. Among graduates who entered the workforce between 2023 and 2025, 42% secured jobs at Fortune Global 500 enterprises. In the 2025 recruitment list for Shenzhen civil servants under the Guangdong Provincial Civil Service Examination, the number of Shenzhen University graduates ranked first among all universities nationwide. The overall postgraduate admission rate for the 2025 undergraduate cohort reached 31.65%. Domestic further studies are primarily at "Double First-Class" universities, while overseas study destinations are mainly QS World Top 100 universities.

Over 40 check-in points fully showcase the charm of Liyuan

On the Open Day, more than 40 check-in points and consultation booths were set up across the two campuses. The university leadership interacted warmly with prospective students and their parents on-site. Each school opened its cutting-edge laboratories and practical facilities, including brain-computer interfaces, microscopic 3D printing, and moot courts. Additionally, the university relaunched the interactive game "New Tomorrow", inviting prospective students to return in September with their completed stamp booklets and admission letters to claim an exclusive gift—a sincere and heartfelt invitation for the next generation of makers and scholars to meet at the Lychee Garden.
