On the afternoon of May 16, 2026, the 9th International Culture Festival of Shenzhen University officially opened at the South Area of Yuehai Campus.
This year's festival, themed "Fun at Liyuan, Embracing the Future of Guangdong," was jointly organized by the Yuehai Subdistrict Office, the Community Party Committee of Shenzhen University, and the College of International Exchange of Shenzhen University. The event attracted faculty and students from multiple universities across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, as well as many local residents.
Vice President of Shenzhen University, Chao Naipeng, remarked in his opening speech that the International Culture Festival provides a platform for exchange between Chinese and international youth, showcasing the fusion of diverse cultures. This year, coinciding with APEC's "China Year," the festival featured a dedicated APEC cultural zone, enabling students from China and abroad to "see, understand, and engage with the Asia-Pacific."
At the festival, participants wandered among the meticulously decorated country-themed booths set up by international students, carrying event "passports" to collect stamps and stickers representing each nation while sampling authentic cuisine and taking part in fun games, immersing themselves in the unique cultures of the world. Performances by international student bands, song and dance shows, poetry recitations, and guqin music alternated on the main stage and in the flash-mob area, bringing endless energy and vitality to the festival.
Now in its ninth edition, the Shenzhen University International Culture Festival has become an important platform for students from China and abroad to showcase their cultures and strengthen friendships, while also providing faculty, students, and local residents with a window to understand the world and embrace cultural diversity.
