2025 Shenzhen University Young Scientists Forum opens

On December 30, 2025, the Shenzhen University Young Scientists Forum opened at the Yuehai Campus, aiming to showcase the institution's scientific research capabilities and attract global talent. 72 high-level talents from 14 developed countries and regions participated in the forum. Luo Bing, Director of the Shenzhen Municipal Talent Affairs Bureau, Li Yonghua, Vice President of Shenzhen University, and three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering attended the opening ceremony.

Luo Bing stated in his speech that Shenzhen attracts global talent with its innovative ecosystem and efficient talent environment, inviting young talents to contribute to the city's development. Li Yonghua introduced that Shenzhen University, after 42 years since its establishment, has grown into a high-level comprehensive university, serving major national strategies and advancing toward world-class status.

Shenzhen University has deepened scientific research reform, building a multi-level scientific research platform. In the humanities and social sciences, significant breakthroughs have been made in disciplinary layout and platform construction, with a future focus on reform and opening-up research. In science and engineering, advantageous disciplines are among the international forefront, strengthening talent team building and industry-university cooperation. The university introduced a full-lifecycle talent support policy, offering career pathways from postdoctoral roles to distinguished professorships, alongside dedicated support teams for overseas young scholars.

Two young scholars shared their growth experiences: Yang Yu, an overseas outstanding young scholar, credited the university's comprehensive support for her career advancement. Chen Xiaoqiang, after three years at Shenzhen University, received the Outstanding Youth Science Fund, citing Shenzhen's innovative atmosphere and Shenzhen University's policies as core attractions. Wang Yixin, a U.S.-returned doctor, expressed enthusiasm for Shenzhen University's career opportunities and interdisciplinary research prospects.

Following the main forum, sub-forums were held to interpret policies, and participants visited Tencent Headquarters and the Shenzhen Talent Park on the same day.
