​Shenzhen University President Mao Junfa leads a delegation on visit to Keio University in Japan

On the morning of March 31, Mao Junfa, President of Shenzhen University, led a delegation to visit Keio University's Mita Campus in Tokyo, Japan. During the visit, they met with Keio University Executive Director Mr. TSUCHIYA, Motohiro and other representatives, engaging in an in-depth exchange on various topics, including the development of both universities, international strategies, educational philosophies, and global initiatives.

Mao Junfa introduced Shenzhen University and its Tokyo College, the University's first overseas academic facility. The Tokyo College primarily serves Japanese students and international students residing in Japan, offering undergraduate degree programs. He expressed his appreciation for Keio University's support for Shenzhen University Tokyo College, acknowledging Keio University's reputation as a prestigious private university in Japan and emphasizing the value of learning from its experience and achievements in education. Both universities, as comprehensive universities, share common interests in promoting faculty and student exchanges and fostering collaboration in research.

TSUCHIYA, Motohiro recognized Shenzhen University's rapid progress in global development and its growing global influence. He expressed hope for enhancing cooperation between the two universities, particularly in the fields of science, technology, and the humanities, to jointly address the challenges of globalizing higher education.

During the meeting, the Shenzhen University delegation shared insights into the University's recent achievements and practices in areas such as the "Double First-Class" initiative, global expansion, student development, and international collaboration.

The two sides also engaged in a thorough discussion regarding the future development of Shenzhen University Tokyo College. Both parties agreed that internationalization is a shared mission for contemporary higher education. Given the strong alignment in their educational philosophies, directions, and goals, Shenzhen University and Keio University look forward to leveraging this meeting as an opportunity to strengthen collaboration in joint teaching, student exchanges, and research initiatives.
