On February 7, 2025, the "Wind Blows, Water Rises" design practice and research exhibition, co-organized by Doreen Heng Liu and NODE Architecture & Urbanism, and the Greater Bay Area Innovation Design Lab of Shenzhen University (the GBA Lab/SZU), opened at the Aedes Architecture Forum in Berlin, accompanied by an opening ceremony and a thematic forum.

The exhibition provides a comprehensive presentation of Doreen Heng Liu and NODE Architecture & Urbanism's "atypical" architectural practices in urban renewal and the public integration of infrastructure. It also showcases the GBA Lab's research on multi-scale urban water environments and forward-thinking design solutions addressing future ecological challenges.

This exhibition represents a significant milestone for both sides in exploring the interactive relationship between research and practice.
The NODE Architecture & Urbanism’s local expertise provides the GBA Lab with rich case studies, while the GBA Lab offers theoretical depth and regional insights to support the design practices. Through interdisciplinary collaboration in design research, teaching, exhibitions, and academic activities, both parties aim to establish a mutually reinforcing cycle that fosters innovation in design methodologies.
