Delegation from Yemeni Congregation for Reform visits Shenzhen University

On July 5, Abdul Wahab Ahmed Al-Ansi, Secretary-General of the Yemeni Congregation for Reform, visited Shenzhen University (SZU) with a delegation. They were accompanied by Yu Wei, Deputy Director of the Third Bureau of the International Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, as well as other officials from the International Department and the Foreign Affairs Office of the Shenzhen Municipal Government. At SZU, they were welcomed by Party Secretary Li Qingquan and Vice President Zhang Xiaohong. The meeting was held in Room 201 of the Huiyuan Building at the Yuehai Campus. The event was attended by leaders from key departments at SZU, including the Party and Administrative Affairs Office, the Academic Affairs Department, the Graduate School, the Student Affairs Department, the International Exchange and Cooperation Department, and the Logistics Support Department, as well as by Yemeni students currently studying at SZU. Vice President Zhang Xiaohong presided over the meeting.

Li Qingquan extended a warm welcome to the delegation and provided an overview of SZU. He highlighted that, in its 41 years of operation, SZU has achieved remarkable development in higher education, with its domestic and international rankings consistently improving. Over this period, SZU has produced more than 300,000 alumni, with 90% of them working in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and making significant contributions to regional development. Mr. Li emphasized that SZU, located in the Greater Bay Area and seizing global opportunities, actively fosters international talent cultivation, research collaboration, faculty development, and cultural interactions. SZU has established partnerships with 290 higher education institutions across 55 countries and regions worldwide. It has engaged in a variety of collaborative activities, including student and faculty exchanges, research projects, and joint educational programs. SZU is dedicated to attracting students from around the globe, fostering an international environment, and significantly improving the quality and scope of its international interactions. Currently, SZU has more than 800 international students enrolled. Mr. Li expressed his hope that the visit would strengthen collaboration between the two countries in student development and other related areas.

Al-Ansi praised SZU's achievements and was impressed by the technological advancements he observed, as well as the growing prominence of this eastern civilization. He regarded these accomplishments as a testament to China's remarkable progress in modern science and technology. Al-Ansi expressed confidence in the future development of both Yemen and China and hoped that this visit would further strengthen bilateral exchanges and cooperation.
