On June 19, the music hall of Huide Building at Shenzhen University (SZU) resonated with melodious tunes, commemorating the 100th anniversary of renowned Indian poet Rabindranath Tagore's visit to China. To foster cultural and artistic exchanges between Chinese and Indian youth, the Cheena Bhavana (Institute of Chinese Language and Culture) of Visva-Bharati University and SZU's departments, including the International Office, the Youth League Committee, the Division of Arts, the School of Humanities, the College of International Exchange, and the Centre for Indian Studies of Shenzhen University, jointly organized the "Commemorating the 100th Anniversary of Tagore's Visit to China: China-India Youth Music Concert Radiant as Summer Flowers" at SZU.

Yi Ling, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Humanities at SZU, remarked in her address that the School of Humanities is currently the sole higher institute of humanities in Shenzhen, and it also serves as a vital gateway for the university's cultural exchanges with foreign countries. Today's concert exemplifies this mission through the artistic medium of music to foster exchange and understanding between youth from China and India.

The concert consists of two chapters: "Joyous Melodies, Forging New Acquaintances", inspired by the ancient Chinese poet Qu Yuan's verse, symbolizing the beautiful vision of mutual understanding through music; and "Chinese-Indian Brilliance, Radiant as Summer Flowers" derived from Tagore's poetry, representing the prosperity and brilliance of cultural exchange between China and India.

The young talents from SZU and the Visva-Bharati University dazzled the audience with splendid instrumental performances, graceful dances, and enchanting vocals, creating a feast for the senses. Their contributions added vibrant colors to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Tagore's visit to China, injecting youthful vigor into Sino-Indian cultural exchanges, radiant like summer flowers and as beautiful as the splendor of hibiscus.

In addition to participating in the China-India Youth Music Concert, students from the Visva-Bharati University engaged in various activities during their visit to Shenzhen. They took part in the China-India Youth Forum, held discussions with renowned indologist Professor Yu Longyu, learnedguqinand calligraphy with Chinese students, studied Mandarin with international students in China, explored Chinese painting, and visited the Shenzhen Museum, among other activities. These experiences provided them with a multifaceted understanding of Chinese culture and allowed them to appreciate the beauty of Shenzhen.
