
On the morning of April 22, the welcome ceremony of "Chinese Bridge" Spring Camp for Students from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (GCC Countries) in 2024 was unveiled in Room 101 of Huizi Building on the Yuehai Campus. Mr. Zhang Xueji, Vice President of Shenzhen University (SZU), Ms. Tasneem Alsaati, Director of International Affairs Office of Prince Sultan University, and Engineer Ibrahim Al-Ghemlas, Saudi Director of Confucius Institute at Prince Sultan University, attended the ceremony and delivered speeches. Representatives from SZU's International Office and College of International Exchange, and a delegation of Saudi students also attended the event.
Mr. Zhang Xueji, on behalf of SZU, extended a warm welcome to the Saudi delegation. He expressed his hope that they would immerse themselves in the Chinese language, experience the richness of Chinese culture, explore Shenzhen's urban culture and innovative spirit, witness the enthusiasm and vitality of SZU's students, and depart with fond memories of Shenzhen from the "Chinese Bridge" Spring Camp. Additionally, he anticipated that SZU and Prince Sultan University of Saudi Arabia would strengthen their friendship and foster further exchanges and cooperation in the future.
Ms. Tasneem Alsaati conveyed her gratitude to SZU for its warm hospitality and unwavering support. She emphasized the longstanding partnership between SZU and Prince Sultan University of Saudi Arabia, as well as the Confucius Institute, which has diligently worked to expand international educational opportunities and facilitate cross-cultural exchanges and cooperation since its establishment. Ms. Tasneem Alsaati highlighted numerous past activities and ongoing preparations for future endeavors, expressing her anticipation of continued cooperation with SZU in the realm of international education and cultural exchange. She underscored the shared goal of fostering deeper friendships and forging a bright future together.
Engineer Ibrahim Al-Ghemlas delivered a speech at the ceremony, expressing his hope that the "Chinese Bridge" Spring Camp would play a pivotal role in advancing Chinese language education in Saudi Arabia. He underlined the Camp's potential to inspire and attract more young learners, encouraging their engagement with Chinese language and culture. Al-Ghemlas envisioned the Camp as a catalyst for fostering greater exchanges and cooperation between the two countries across various domains.

During the week-long Spring Camp, the Saudi student delegation will engage in a variety of activities aimed at immersing them in Chinese language and culture. The itinerary includes attending Chinese language classes at SZU's College of International Exchange, touring esteemed institutions such as SZU and the Southern University of Science and Technology, and visiting prominent enterprises like Huawei, Mindray, Tencent, and Shenzhen Smart City. Additionally, they will explore the Shenzhen Talent Park and participate in events such as the internationalization-themed month organized by the Alliance Française de Shenzhen, the "Roadshow of Intangible Cultural Heritage Activities", an interactive Chinese language class at SZU's School of Media and Communication, and the "Chinese Zither, Chess, Calligraphy and Painting" cultural experience arranged by the Institute of Chinese Classics.
