On the afternoon of March 12, the "Student Forest" tree-planting campaign at Shenzhen University (SZU) took root simultaneously at both the Yuehai and Lihu campuses. Among the esteemed guests were Vice President Li Yonghua and representatives from the Student Affairs Office, the Youth League Committee, the Logistics Support Department, and the Lihu Campus Management Office.

SZU is actively nurturing a culture of ecological protection both within its classrooms and across its grounds. Through a vibrant ecological campaign, the university is fostering a campus ethos that champions energy conservation, low carbon footprints, and green sustainability. Together, students and faculty members are striving to cultivate a campus environment that is not only green and beautiful, but also uniquely distinctive.
Vice President Li Yonghua addressed the gathering at the Lihu campus, while Student Affairs Office Director Chen Yunfei spoke at the gathering held at the Yuehai campus, both emphasizing the significance of this tree-planting endeavor. Beyond the act of planting itself, the initiative aimed to promote the value of labor education, instill in students a deep appreciation for hard work, and let them experience the satisfaction of their efforts. Moreover, the event was an opportunity for students to learn about greenery and teamwork, enhancing their overall skills and sense of responsibility. SZU, which is renowned for its stunning and verdant surroundings, has been awarded as one of the Ten Most Beautiful Universities in China. Maintaining this beautiful environment requires the joint efforts of all students and faculty members. This initiative not only served as a tribute to hard work but also stood as a firm commitment to preserving and enhancing the splendor of SZU.
During the event, experienced gardeners shared insights into tree-planting techniques, while university leaders, leading by example, rolled up their sleeves and joined students in getting their hands dirty. This hands-on approach ignited a profound passion among students for tree planting to create a more vibrant and beautiful university environment. After organizing into different teams and equipping themselves with tree seedlings and planting tools, teachers and students collaborated under professional guidance to plant trees.
