1st SZU Confucius Institute opens in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia

The Confucius Institute co-built by Shenzhen University and Prince Sultan University was opened at the Prince Sultan University in Riyadh, capital of Saudi Arabia, marking the official opening of the first of such institute in the kingdom. It is the first time that a university in Shenzhen has partnered in the establishment of Confucius Institutes.

Before the opening ceremony, the President of Prince Sultan University met with the delegation of Shenzhen University. The two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on deepening cooperation between the two universities in various fields and the development of the Confucius Institute.

Founded in 1998, Prince Sultan University is the first private, non-profit university founded in Saudi Arabia. It has six colleges: College of Business Administration,College of Engineering, College of Law, College of Humanities, and College of Computer and Information Science. There are more than 6,500 students and 900 faculty members at the university.
