The first China-Central Asia Summit was held in Xi’anon May 18-19, 2023. President Xi gave a speech,Declaration of China-Central Asia Summitwas published, andChina-Central Asia Summit achievementwas issued.The cooperation agreement signed between Shenzhen University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University has been included in the list of achievements.


Shenzhen University and Al-Farabi Kazakh National University signed the Memorandum of Understanding, at a signing ceremony which was held at the recently opened Consulate General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Xi'an on the afternoon of May 19th. It was signed by Zhang Xueji, Vice President of Shenzhen University,and Zhanseit Tuimebayev, President of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University on behalf of both universities. After the ceremony, the twopartiesconducted friendly talks. Within the framework of the memorandum, the two universities plan to carry out exchanges of studentsandteachers, joint cultivation of graduate and undergraduate students, as well as cooperationin scientific research, so as to speed up the training of international talents and the building ofaninternational research platform, thus better serving the Belt and Road Initiative.
Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, founded in 1934, is the largest comprehensive university in Kazakhstan. In 2023, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University ranked 150thin the global QS university rankings. Principal Zhanseit Tuimebayev accompanied Kazakh President Tokayev on his visit to China to participate in the China-Central Asia Summit.
