Shenzhen University 40th Anniversary Donation Ceremony and "Voice of the Coast" Concert were held in Lihu Campus's Zhichang Gymnasium on the evening of April 27.
More than 1,400 people attended, including the university authorities and representatives of alumni, entrepreneurs, teachers and student.
The 40th Anniversary events are held to celebrate the long-term support SZU has received from society and the alumni.
At the Ceremony, SZU received donations from entrepreneurs. Tomorrow Leader Education donated 10 million RMB. NWY Group donated 100 million RMB. Shenzhen Geokey Group CO., Ltd. donated 40 million RMB. Genzon donated 50 million RMB. Costal Group donated 60 million RMB. Tencent Foundation donated 200 million RMB.
Previously, Genzon has already endowed SZU with 47 million RMB. Tencent Founders and Tencent Foundation has donated 390 million RMB to the university. Besides, the following donation agreements have been recently signed. PINGAN Insurance donated 50 million RMB. Shenzhen Dotwell Culture Co., Ltd donated 10 Million RMB. Alumni Ye Xiaobin donated 10 million RMB.
SZU has received up to 530 Million RMB in donation as to April 27.
The donations will be used to fund talent recruitment, teaching and research innovation, international cooperation, campus cultural activities, as well asfacility improvement. SZU will strictly comply with the intention of donators and properly manage the expenditure.
At the end of the donation ceremony, SZU leaders Zeng Pai, Li Qingquan, Mao Junfa and Chen Yidan announce the launch of SZU donation platform. Alumni can access donation projects viahttps://giving.szu.edu.cn/.
As the Youth Day on May 4th is approaching, the "Voice of the Coast" concert is themed “ blessing of the youth”. It has three sections, entitled "Young flags waving", "Young generations fighting" and "Young Shenzhen heading to the future", respectively.
The Concert features the chorus performace Story of Time. The song, jointly performaced by guests and SZUers including Li Qingquan and Mao Junfa, marks the passing 40 years of outstanding achievement for SZU.
