Two young scholars from Shenzhen University won the Spark Award for Huawei’s “List of Resolved Difficulties”

Recently, Huawei heldagrandaward ceremony of“Spark Awardforthe List of Resolved Difficulties”at the headquarter in ShenzhenCity. Cao Weipeng and Zhou Mingyang, two young scholarsfromouruniversity, won the Spark Awardforthe “List ofResolvedDifficulties”, and their solutions solved the key technical problems of the company.

Cao Weipeng proposed a universal QoS degradation detection and prediction scheme for public cloud, private cloud and hybrid cloud scenarios, which laid a technical foundation for the new generation of cloud computing architecture and intelligent scheduling system driven by application performance.In addition, based on the CPU/ memory dynamic super-partition mechanism, the utilization rate of computing resources in the data center is greatly improved on the premise of ensuring the service QoS to meet the SLA.

Zhou Mingyang accelerated the high-order differential calculation of deep learning platform, which greatly reduced the time and space overhead of high-order differential operation and improved the training speed of deep neural network.
