Li Qingquan said that the foundation of Shenzhen University, as the first university established since the Reform and Opening up Policy, was assisted by well-renowned universities including Peking University, Tsinghua University and the National People's Congress. For more than 30 years, SZU has brought up a group of innovative and entrepreneurial talents such as Ma Huateng and Shi Yuzhu. Widely recognized by the society, it is currently in the forefront of the domestic universities founded in the same period. Its domestic ranking has risen by more than 10 places each year, and its international ranking has increased by more than 100 each year. Li Qingquan pointed out that since the establishment of Shenzhen University 36 years ago, it has become one of the fastest-growing universities in the world. The range of academic disciplines in SZU is well-founded, and the number of advanced talents is also among the highest across domestic universities. Significant progress in scientific research has been made, as a result of fruitful cooperation with industry and research institutes, and the largest number of PCT patent application among all the domestic universities.

Yang Qingyi spoke highly of the development of Shenzhen University and introduced the development of Kaohsiung University. Yang Qingyu said that Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology was established in 2018 and was established by merging three universities: Kaohsiung University of Applied Sciences, Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, and Kaohsiung University of Ocean Technology. After the merger of these three schools, Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology has become the largest university of science and technology in Taiwan. Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology attaches great importance to industrial interaction and has established close cooperation with local enterprises. It plays an important role as a think-tank in Kaohsiung's economic and cultural development.

The two sides proceeded to engage in a detailed exchange on various issues related to cooperation. Li Qingquan believes that Shenzhen University and Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology have much room for cooperation in a wide variety of fields. First, Shenzhen University is strong in disciplines such as civil engineering and computer science, while the electronic information industry in Shenzhen is well developed and there are already many Taiwan-funded enterprises, which opens up the possibility for cooperation in these disciplines and fields in the future. In addition, Shenzhen is a marine center city, but Shenzhen University is still weak in marine research and welcomes close cooperation with Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology in the future. Furthermore, the two universities can further cooperate in programs involving exchange students and joint training.
