Recently, the Ministry of Education announced the latest batch of Sino-foreign cooperative education programs. The Master of Science program in Financial Technology and Risk Control jointly organized by Shenzhen University (SZU) and Audencia Business School (ABS) in France was selected. The project, the first Sino-foreign cooperative education project of SZU, aims to cultivate financial technology talents with international competitiveness and serve the future development of the financial technology industry in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. The project will start to recruit students independently for mainland China during this year. The planned enrollment limit is 80 students per year, to be divided between two batches of full-time and part-time enrollment. Those who complete the project will be awarded degree certificates certified by China and France.

With the rapid development of the financial science and technology industry, we are facing great opportunities as well as a challenge of talent shortage at present. According to relevant statistics, the talent gap in this field in China is more than 1.5 million. Nowadays, only a few colleges and universities in China have set up majors in this area.
Currently, SZU is introducing the Financial Technology and Risk Control major of ABS, which is of great significance for cultivating all-round talents with international competitiveness, serving the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Shenzhen Pilot Demonstration Area, promoting the cooperation between China and France in higher education in Shenzhen, as well as speeding up the construction of SZU as a world-class university.
On the one hand, the project combines the unique advantages of Finance and Computer Science of SZU, especially in big data, information security, and high-performance computing. On the other hand, its successful experience integrates the construction of Finance Technology and Risk Control of ABS. Thus, the project builds on the foundation of years of cooperation between the two universities.
The duration of the program is two years, and the two schools will work together to develop the syllabus and evaluation criteria. Among these, the professional courses, class hours and teacher allocation of ABS are all at least 50%, and the teaching at SZU will be carried out by overseas teachers stationed at SZU. In the two years, students can not only complete basic courses and professional courses, but will also go to France to learn about innovation, entrepreneurship and social practice. After reaching the two-year training goal, students can obtain a master's degree in Finance Technology and Risk Control from ABS, certified by China and France.
The Sino-French teaching team established by SZU and ABS has strong scientific research abilities and a first-class international outlook. The team will contribute to the further opening up of Shenzhen and deeper integration into the world economy.
