Chair of the University Council Liu Hongyi visited Shenzhen University Pinghu Hospital on June 4 tosupervise the preparatory work for the opening of the hospital.
After listening to the report, Liu Hongyi affirmed the progress and achievements that have been made since the trial operation of Pinghu Hospital, a city-level public hospital and an affiliated hospital directly under Shenzhen University. He commented,“The Opening Leading Group and all staff have conducted fruitful and solid work and made significant progress in system construction, discipline planning, and talent recruitment.”
Liu Hongyi pointed out that the opening of Pinghu Hospital on schedule was the current top priority and brought forward the following advice to achieve this goal. First, the Hospital should further strengthen leadership and achieve a more rational division of work so that the team will work towards common goals and that scientific decision-making and effective implementation will be guaranteed. Second, the Hospital should should further enhance team building and create an atmosphere inspiring entrepreneurship and hard work. Third, the Hospital should further increase the sense of responsibility and urgency, ensuring that the tasks are completed in strict accordance with the work schedule. Fourth, the Hospital should further clarify its direction and mission, improve hospital planning and always put treatment and saving people first. Fifth, the Hospital should further strengthen system construction, formulate and improve rules and systems to ensure there are regulations to follow. Sixth, the Hospital should strive for a cleaner governance to ensure all work is in compliance with the law. Seventh, the Hospital should develop a hospital culture. Eighth, the Hospital should strengthen communication with the government and relevant departments of the University. He said,“Shenzhen University will coordinate and facilitate resolution of the difficulties and problems encountered during the construction of the hospital.”
Fan Zhigang, vice-chair of the University Council, said,“The key lies in talent recruitment. Pinghu Hospital should introduce top talents in accordance with high standards and strict requirements. In addition, the Hospital should make the development plan in a systematic and scientific way, strengthen system construction and improve management efficiency with special attention to clean governance.”
Zhang Xueji, vice president of Shenzhen University and leader of the Pinghu Hospital Opening Leading Group pointed out,“Pinghu Hospital should draw on the experience of the top hospitals in China and position itself as an internationally renowned and domestic first-class hospital. With the construction of the hospital at a high starting point, to a high standard and at a high level, Pinghu Hospital should realize the development goal step by step and strive to become a high-level platform.”
Shenzhen University Pinghu Hospital is the second affiliated hospital directly under the University after SZU General Hospital. Located in Pinghu, Longgang District with a construction area of about 327,000 square meters, it is designed to provide 1,500 beds in the first phase. The Hospital started trial operation at the end of 2019 and will officially open at the end of 2020 as planned.
The meeting was held to ensure a smooth opening of Pinghu Hospital and was also attended by heads of various departments including the Office of Party and Administration, Publicity Department, Health Science Center and SZU General Hospital.
