SZU Rises Fast in THE World University Rankings 2021

Shenzhen University ranks among the top 500 universities for the first time, rising 100 places to 401-500 over last year according to the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings 2021 announced on September 2. It climbs 2 places to 16th among universities from the Chinese mainland.

The THE World University Rankings 2021 includes 1,527 leading universities worldwide this year, among which mainland China claims 91 spots. The top five institutions in mainland China are Tsinghua University, Peking University, Fudan University, University of Science and Technology of China and Zhejiang University. A total of nine universities in Guangdong province are in the list with Shenzhen University and South China University of Technology both ranking the 3rd among the institutions in Guangdong. Shenzhen University has continued its ascent in the four authoritative world university rankings (THE World University Rankings, US News University Ranking, QS World University Rankings and ShanghaiRanking's Academic Ranking of World Universities with the average ranking of top 15 among institutions in m ainland China.

The Times Higher Education World University Rankings offers an annually updated list of top universities across 93 countries and regions based on five metrics and 13 indicators, including teaching, research, citations, international outlook and industry income.
